Australian born and raised, Theatre & Film theorist & Sociologist, Myk'l left for London at the age of 20 to start a long and fulfilling journey traveling the world, engaging in a variety of industries and excelling in all. During his 2 years in London, Myk'l kept busy learning Graphic Design until joining an Interiors Team that specialised in high end residential and commercial design; with clients such as ‘Marimekko’ and ‘Selfridges’.
Moving to Rome, Italy, Myk'l accidentally became sought after as ‘the Manny’ for single parents that worked in TV, Industrial Design and Hospitality. His ability to instill discipline and encourage creativity transformed not only the children under his charge but the parents as well, and he continues a relationship with these families to this day. He also worked with ‘Cattleya Films’ doing script analysis for English language films in early development.
With a strong background in Ancient History, Myk'l began what became a 6-year career as a Tour Guide of the city of Rome and the Vatican City State. His specific target market were tourists who did not like tours and with every tour, he was able to turn them around. Clients included ‘Coca-Cola corporate’ and the American pop band the Scissor Sisters'. Myk'l was even taking groups of 50 pax throughout European cities for 10-15 days as part of the ‘EF Education Group’.
After 7 years in Rome, Myk'l moved to New York to continue working as a creative consultant (as a side project), for the highly successful nightclub ‘mr. Black’. Myk'l was then invited to re-invigorate the Williamsburg restaurant ‘Juliette’, redesigning their website, their brand design and organizing their PR and events.
Myk'l has also been working alongside Prop Stylist extraordinaire Marcus Hay for 8 years. Under Studio Marcus Hay Myk’l was able to work with a lengthy clientele, most importantly ‘Design Within Reach’, as well as 'Bloomingdales', 'CB2', ‘Martha Stewart’, ‘Good Housekeeping’ and ‘JCPenny’. Myk'l also assists stylist Jeanne Lurvey for various lifestyle television shows and advertisements for ‘FoodNetwork’, ‘Macy’s’ and ‘AOL’.
Myk'l was also Art Directing for ‘Follow Productions’ for the hit tv show ‘FarmHouse Rules’ with Nancy Fuller, and ‘BBQ Blitz’ with Eddie Jackson. As well as Freelancing for ‘Design Within Reach’ in various roles with the Photo Team.
Culminating years of experience in many fields, Myk'l has steadily continued writing, and finally moving into a more hands-on approach to scriptwriting, and film production.
Myk’l also works a few days a week at the successful CADDIS flagship store in the West Village, NYC, doing fittings for celebrity clients such as Brooke Shields, Keri Russel, Sofia Coppola, Nicole Ari Parker, Adam Pally, Busy Philipps, Heather Graham and many industry clients.
